Views group your data in the listbox. They are complete, word, topic,
important, date and a second filter. The view buttons are on the
top task bar (or if that is hidden, choose "View" from the
main menu or right click the mouse.)
View Filters provide a way to look at your data in different ways.
When a View Filter button is clicked (or menu item from "View")
the main list at the bottom of the screen will have different contents.
The entire list is still there, you are just looking at different
portions of it depending on the Filter.
With all filters except "complete" you are given the option
to move the search list to the end of you main list. This
is useful when you select Reverse by clicking on the
checkbox to the left and top of the list.
When you have filtered your list, and then enter a new
item, the new item will only appear in the current visible list
if it meets the condition of the filter. However the new
item has in fact been added. (See Help/Options)
Here are the filters:
Complete: Your complete list.
Important: Brings up a list of only the things marked important.
By Topic: You choose a topic name, and the list will now
show those things having that topic. You enter
in a topic (optional) when you enter the thing,
or replace it.
By Word: This is a search by word(s). You may also search for
two things with AND, or either one or another thing with OR.
You can do this in a single filter, or even in the 2nd filter.
In a plain (not AND or OR) search, you can click on the
checkbox "Whole words only" to find exact matches for words,
thus if you searched for "book", "book" would be found, but
not the imbedded "bookish."
After doing searches, you can refer back to the search words
by clicking the down button at the right of the edit boxes.
This list is automatically maintained across sessions.
By Date: You have choices of all things on a certain date,
those which were enter today, those on or before
a given date, those on or since a certain date,
and those between two dates (inclusive).
An item has to be stamped with the date for
it to be recognizedi in a date search.
You may apply two filters at once. For example, you could click on
Important to bring up all the items marked important. Then, when
enabled, you can click on 2nd filter and further filter this list
by Date, by Word, by Topic.
You may view your "short list" of items with Short List.
Your last primary search causes a graphic to be updated corresponding
to the icon for each type of search. This graphic is immediately above
the list box of things. You can click this icon to repeat the same type
of search as the last one.
